Our Story

Ruarir Metier

Once upon a time, in the world of aspiring entrepreneurs and burgeoning dreams, there existed the embryonic stages of a brand that would transcend the conventional norms of fashion. Before the birth of Ruarir Metier, there were two identities that flickered in the background—2Nifty and Datz2Bad. Yet, beneath these surface names, a deeper essence was waiting to emerge.

Rorey Washington, a 17-year-old visionary, found himself at a crossroads. He had ventured into the world of business with 2Nifty, a playful nod to being the second child. Later, Datz2Bad was conceived from a casual conversation with a friend, an utterance that struck a chord of humor. However, Rorey realized that to be taken seriously in the competitive business landscape, a name with gravitas was imperative.

The quest for a name that resonated with uniqueness and meaning was not an easy one. Rorey stumbled upon the significance of his own name, "Rory," which meant Red Kings. Intrigued, he explored further and discovered "Ruairi," a name he reshaped into "Ruarir." Complementing this newfound identity was the word "Metier," meaning to excel in one's work—particularly art, in Rorey's case. In its initial conception, Ruarir Metier simply meant "Rorey's Art."

However, as Rorey embarked on his personal journey, the true essence of Ruarir Metier unfolded. It was not merely about being the embodiment of his art; it became a catalyst for redefining narratives and laying the foundation to help encourage other’s to reach there limitless potential through clothes.

During this transformative period, Rorey found himself destructively altering clothes, influenced by external voices urging him towards what he believed was the "right way." He was creating Datz2Bad hoodies through a screen printer, succumbing to the pressure of conforming to perceived norms. Deep down, Rorey knew this wasn't his true vision.

The turning point arrived when he decided to create the Rich Creations No Relations (RCNR) hoodie. This time, he refused to compromise on quality and, against all odds, reached out to an overseas manufacturer at the age of 16. The journey to create this masterpiece was documented in "The Journey of Creating RCNR," a saga of perseverance, setbacks, and the unwavering belief in one's dreams.

In the backdrop of failed attempts, Rorey's unyielding determination shone through. He embraced the mantra that failure is not the end but a stepping stone towards success. The RCNR hoodie became a symbol of resilience, dedication, and the embodiment of the Ruarir Metier philosophy—transforming simple garments into profound expressions of stories & inspiration.

The world took notice of Rorey's journey, culminating in an article that celebrated the indomitable spirit of Ruarir Metier. At just 17, Rorey had transcended the typical narrative of a teenage entrepreneur. He dared to invest his entire savings, not just in clothing but in a vision that aimed to redefine the fashion landscape.

Ruarir Metier is not just merely a brand; it’s a testament to the belief that fashion could be a tool for profound expression to connect with others on a deeper level.
